Rockbridge Summer Staff Day 0
So today I embarked on a new adventure. I set out thinking that summer staff would be the adventure, and I’m sure it will be. Turns out though, getting to summer staff was an adventure in itself.
Today I drove 365 miles, ate an entire bag of sunflower seeds (harder than you would think), purchased two new tires and had them replaced mid-journey, hydroplaned more times than I could count, got lost in the hills of West Virginia (momentarily) and stumbled upon the Greenbriar (neat), had some pretty awesome conversations, and was reminded through all of this that as independent as I would like to be, my parents still help me out a heck of a lot (thanks for the directions and new tires Mom and Dad.)
However, I have successfully completed the 7.5 hour trip (6 hours of driving), and arrived at Rockbridge Alum Springs Young Life camp.
Through out the next two weeks, I will be serving middle school kids alongside approximately 35 other summer staff leaders. I personally will be working at a high ropes course. I’ll let you know what this entails when I find out more.
Y’all are the bomb.
We are glad you got there safely. We are so proud of you.
